Synopsis

The year is 1333. The Kamakura shogunate has built the cornerstones of the Japanese government with the samurai class, but it all comes crumbling down as long-trusted vassal Ashikaga Takauji betrays the shogunate and sets up a rebellion. Houjou Tokiyuki, the rightful heir to the shogunate, has lost everything and been knocked down into the depths of despair and hopelessness. A Shinto priest named Suwa Yorishige takes his hand, and together, they escape Kamakura, which is now in flames. Tokiyuki, now having escaped Kamakura, has arrived at Suwa`s territory, where he meets friends he can trust to build up power to take back Kamakura for his own. He overcomes this wave of a changing period by running away and staying alive, doing quite the opposite of what a samurai would - which is fighting and dying. In this time of chaos filled with heroes, Tokiyuki`s game of tag to reclaim the throne is about to come underway.
